Prepare for an electrifying evening as Banner Promotions Inc., in collaboration with Portland Boxing Club, present professional boxing’s return to the Cross Insurance Arena in Portland, ME on June 15 at 6:30 PM. The Father's Day Pro Boxing Classic is a celebration of heritage, family, and community, marking the first professional boxing event at Cross Insurance Arena since December 10, 1994.
The eight-bout card features a New England Super Welterweight Championship title fight, a mix of exciting amateur bouts competing in the USA Boxing Northeastern Championship series, and more to be announced. Tickets go on sale Wednesday, April 24.
Scheduled to compete:
New England Super Welterweight Champion Casey Streeter (11-2-0, 4 KOs) the “Comeback Kid” from Portland, ME will be defending his title.
2023 All New England Golden Gloves Super Heavyweight Champion Zordan Holman, of Westbrook, ME is a Special Ed teacher at Portland High School.
2023-2024 All New England Golden Gloves Lightweight Champion Ilyas Bashir of Auburn, ME, is a junior at Bates College.
New England Golden Gloves Middleweight Champion Wade Faria of Portland, ME will make his professional debut.
USA Boxing National Middleweight Champion Marco Ramero of Olathe, KS will make his pro-debut as a 10-time national junior champion and the current USA Boxing Elite Champion.
Brandon Berry a popular boxing veteran of West Forks, ME.

About Portland Boxing Club
The Portland Olympic Club, Inc. became a non-profit organization in 1992, operating as Portland Boxing Club under the leadership of Bob Russo, National President of Golden Gloves of America. From the first day, the Portland Boxing Club’s mission has been to provide Portland-area youth with a safe place to learn the sport of boxing. For its entire 32-year history, volunteers have operated the Portland Boxing Club six days per week with no paid staff. The Portland Boxing Club does not receive any public funding. Operations are sustained through memberships, sponsorships, donations, and hosting 108 boxing shows. Of those funding sources, hosting boxing shows is the primary source of income.
Amateur boxers from the Portland Boxing Club have won 246 championships during its 32-year history ranging from Regional New England Golden Gloves to the National Championships. Portland Boxing Club has had 5 amateur boxers in the Olympic trials and 6 amateur boxers on the US Boxing Team representing the United States.
The Portland Boxing Club lives its motto, “Building Champions and Great Citizens.” The mission of the Portland Boxing Club has been to provide young athletes training in the sport of Olympic-style amateur boxing while helping them to build their character. Many of the youth come from underprivileged social and economic environments and require financial assistance to train and compete.
